The camera zooms in on the Tendo Dojo, then into the guest room. There are two sleeping forms, one that looks like a normal shape, and another that looks to large to be anything human. The larger form gets up and we see that it is a panda. The panda grabs a pail of water and splashes the other figure. When the water hit it, the figure awoke with a start. An angry, wet, red haired, pigtailed girl glared at the panda and yelled, "What'd you do that for!" The panda replied with a sign that read, 'Get up! It's time to spar!' The girl grumbled as she threw the panda out the conveniently opened window. She smiled as she heard a splash, followed by angry growling. "Baka Oyaji, why can't he ever let me sleep in? Oh well, I guess I'll take my bath." She picked up her bath things and a change of clothes and left her room. As she left, another girl was walking toward her room. The girl saw the wet redhead and spoke, "Ranma, the bath is ready for you." "Okay Akane. Tell Pops that I'm gonna kick his furry butt when I get out." "Okay Ranma." Ranma-chan went towards the furo and Akane went into the dining room. She saw her oldest sister, Kasumi, setting up the table for breakfast, and her father sitting at it. Akane asked, "Kasumi, do you want me to help you?" Kasumi replied with, "Arigato Akane, you can get the food from the kitchen." "Okay Kasumi." Akane went into the kitchen as a wet panda walked in. Kasumi gently chided, "Saotome-san, don't walk in while you are wet." The panda grumbled a little and waited outside. Kasumi asked, "Akane? Could you get Saotome-san some hot water?" "Okay Kasumi." Akane walked in with a kettle of hot water and a towel. She poured the hot water onto Genma-panda and changed him back to his normal form. He was dressed faster than the eye could follow and was drying himself off. Genma was grumbling about his ingrate of a son when he sat down. Ranma entered the room wearing his normal clothes, a red chinese shirt and a black pair of pants, and eyed the food Akane was bringing in and he tought, 'Kami-sama, please tell me Akane didn't cook.' and he sat down. As Akane was bringing the last of the food in, Nabiki walked in and sat down at the table, still half asleep. Akane sat down next to Ranma when she put down the last tray and everyone started eating, except for Ranma, who let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and then started eating. The scene changes to the throne room on Phoenix Mountain. Sitting on his throne is Chibi-Saffron, who is slightly peeved that someone beat him, and relieved that he didn't finish the job. Ranma could easily kill him now, if he defeated him when he had even more power. Chibi- Saffron called out, "Guard, bring me my sister." "Yes Lord Saffron." The guard quickly left to get Chibi-Saffron's sister. Chibi-Saffron liked his sister, she didn't fear him and she still respected him, maybe a little less now, but she still respected him nonetheless. He smiled as the guard that left returned with a young Phoenix woman. She was quite beautiful, she had short blonde hair and calm, blue eyes. She was wearing clothes that she got from the Amazons, a red sort of robe, it fit her form nicely and had a golden phoenix embroidered of the left chest and a long slit on the left side, which showed a good amount of her leg. She had beautiful white wings on her back. The girl spoke up, "Hello brother." "Hello Nina, guards, please leave us alone for a while." "Yes Lord Saffron." The three guards left the room. Nina then spoke once again, "What do you need of me brother? I doubt this is a social call." "Yes Nina, you are correct. I need you to look after someone in Japan." "The one who defeated you?" "Yes, I need to make sure he doesn't come back in bad blood." "You wish to have the one who defeated you return?" "Not immediately, but prehaps sometime after the people have calmed." "I understand, but why not have someone else go?" "I can't trust anyone else to not attack him, causing yet another reason for him to come back to fight." "I see, okay brother, I shall do this for you." "Bring a weapon in your sub-space pocket, if he sees you, he may attack thinking that I am trying to get my revenge." "Don't you think my magic would suffice?" "He survived some of my stronger attacks, I don't doubt your abilities, but he is very powerful." "Okay, I'll bring a weapon." "I'll accompany you." "Okay." Chibi-Saffron got off of his throne and followed Nina out of the throne room and into the armory. There were many weapons scattered about. They all looked the same, being either spears, swords, or axes made of iron. Nina was looking for a suitable weapon while Chibi-Saffron was talking to a solider guarding a door. Nina picks up a spear and tests its weight and balance. Nina tells Chibi-Saffron, "I guess I'll take this one." Chibi-Saffron stops talking to the guard and asks, "What do you mean?" "I'll take this spear." "Why?" "Because it has good weight, near perfect balance, and a good shape. Why wouldn't I want this spear?" "Because you didn't see all the weapons yet." "Oh." Nina walks over to Chibi-Saffron after putting the spear back. Chibi- Saffron turned to the guard and spoke, "Okay, let us through." The guard replied, "Okay lord Saffron." and the guard moved away from the door. Nina and Chibi-Saffron went into the room that was being guarded and Nina's eyes went wide. There were many weapons of diverse origins. Nina calmly walked up to a group of weapons and started examining them. She picked up a plain looking sword and turned to Chibi-Saffron and asked, "What's so special about this one?" Chibi-Saffron chuckled a little and answered, "Some of the weapons still have disguise fields on them. Hold on." Chibi-Saffron began channeling his magic, and casted, "Identify!" The weapon in Nina's hands changed drastically, turning into an elegant sword with a blade three feet long and a beautifully crafted hilt that made the weapon look more like a work of art than an object of war. On the hilt was a strange orb. After staring at the sword for a few minutes, she spoke again, "What is this sword?" Chibi- Saffron replied, "That, is the Houou Yaiba." "The Houou Yaiba... cool. I'll take this one." "Good, it suits you perfectly." "Thank you brother." Nina placed the Houou Yaiba into her sub-space pocket and exited the armory with her brother. They returned to the throne room, where Chibi- Saffron returned to his seat. Nina then asked, "So, who am I looking for and where do they live?" "I believe his name was Saotome Ranma, and he lives somewhere in Japan." "Japan? Alright, I'll leave as soon as possible brother." "Good, I expect to hear good things when you return." "You will. I shall see you soon." Nina then exited the throne room, and Chibi-Saffron smiled, knowing his sister wouldn't let him down. The guards then reentered the room, and the day progressed, with nothing else happening. In Nermina, it was night. Ranma was in his room, brooding over what had happened that day. It wasn't an unusual day. Ranma went to school, got glomped by Shampoo on his way to school, got hit by Akane after said glomp, finally got to school, beat the hell out of Kuno at school, had lunch, beat Kuno again, went home, fought Mousse, and finally, got in a fight with Akane. Ranma sighed, he was trying hard to get along with Akane after what happened at Mount Phoenix, but it proved very difficult. Akane seemed to get agrivated at the tiniest thing he does wrong. "Man! I wish that me an' Akane could get along better! But baka oyaji and Tendo-san just pressure us and the other fiancees ain't helpin'. Maybe if I left for a while things'll calm down. Perfect idea! I'll just say I'm goin' on a training journey tomorrow, then Tendo-san and Oyaji'll make me take Akane, and I'll just tell Nabiki where I'm not goin' and that'll take care of the fiancees, Kodachi, and Kuno. That way, me and Akane can spend some time together without any interference from anyone!" With that, Ranma gets up to tell Genma and Soun that tomorrow he would be leaving on a training journey, forgetting to think about Ryoga ruining his plans. Downstairs, there was angry klanking and banging coming from the kitchen. Genma and Soun heard this, did a quick shinto prayer, and went back to their game of Go. When Nabiki heard this, she made an excuse and left for safer grounds. When Kasumi heard, she sighed, leaving to get the fire extiguisher and to put poison control on hold. When Ranma emerged from the stairs and heard this, he paled and fell down said stairs. The reason for the varied reactions, Akane was cooking tonight. Kasumi walked over to the downed Ranma and said, "I'm sorry, she got to the kitchen before I could." Ranma groaned and got up. He replied, "I hope my first plan works." "What do you mean Ranma-kun?" "You'll see. Was she usin' the cookbook that was left on the counter?" "Yes, I believe so." "Excellent," was Ranma's cryptic reply as he walked toward the living room and sat down on the sofa, leaving a slightly confused Kasumi near the stairs. Ten minutes later, the noise stopped, and twenty minutes later, Akane called out, "Dinner is ready!" causing Genma-panda and Soun to halt their game, while Kasumi and Ranma walked toward the table. Genma-panda believed since he was in his cursed form, he wouldn't have to suffer at the hands of the food of the damned (because, there was a good chance that it did have hands.), but at the table, Akane was smiling, holding a kettle of hot water. Genma-panda sighed as Akane emptied the kettle on him and he got dressed in his lightspeed manner. The table was silent for two minutes while everyone was looking at Ranma. Ranma broke the silence with, "What?" Akane replied, "Aren't you going to eat it?" Ranma countered with, "Yeah, in good time." This caused Akane to get angry and she yelled, "You're probably just waiting for one of your other fiancees to come in and offer you food, aren't you?" Ranma sighed in frustration and yelled back, "That's it! I can't take it anymore! I'm gonna end it all!" and he proceeded to eat the food. Everyone gasped as they watched Ranma eat all the food on his plate. A few minutes went by without anything happening, then Ranma grinned and started to do a happy little jig. Everyone sweatdropped and Akane started saying over and over, "I just fried his brain," as Ranma continued his antics. In five minutes, Ranma stopped dancing and Genma asked, "What was that about boy?" and Ranma replied, "I knew it! I found out why all of Akane's food was so horrible!" Everyone was surprised and Akane was slightly angry, but decided to wait to punish Ranma and hear his explaination. After Ranma calmed down somewhat, he continued, "The idea came to me when I was payin' attention to class one day. The teacher said that some people were illiterate and that illiteracy could be be applied to a bunch of stuff, like computers an' junk. Well, I thought to myself that Akane could be cookbook illiterate, I thought of it like a joke, not real serious, ya know? But the more I thought about it, the better it sounded to being the reason Akane can't cook. So I decided to test it. I picked one of Kasumi's cookbooks and started to put in the wrong ingredients and info, and I knew Kasumi wouldn't use it because she'd know that the stuff was wrong. After I did that, I started to use Akane's cooking to make fun of her, knowing she'd try an' prove that she wasn't a bad cook. But, as Akane kept tryin' to prove herself, Kasumi kept stoppin' her. I wasn't defeated though, I knew eventually that Akane would get into the kitchen an' try to cook, an' she'd use the cookbook that I leave out everytime Kasumi puts it away. So that is the reason Akane can't cook, she can't follow directions for cooking as well as normal people, so if you give her the wrong info, she'll cook a normal meal!" Ranma started his happy little jig again, but this time, he was joined by Genma and Soun, who were saying that Ranma did care for Akane and the schools'll be united soon. Akane just sat there, ecstatic, she was thinking, 'Ranma did all that for me?' and she didn't think her mood could be ruined until she heard Soun and Genma talking about a wedding. Akane spoke up, "I'm not marrying that baka!" and Genma and Soun stopped dancing, and looked at Akane. Soun asked her, "Why not? It's obvious that he loves you, he helped you overcome your cooking problem." and Genma added, "You two couldn't be more perfect for each other." and Akane countered with, "So? That doesn't mean he loves me or I love him!" Then Ranma stopped dancing and spoke up, "We can't get married anyway..." and Akane was thinking then, 'He's probable going to make fun of me,' then Ranma finished, "...cause I'm goin' on a training journey tomorrow, alone." Akane was surprised that Ranma didn't shove his foot in his mouth, and Soun and Genma saw a perfect chance to get the two together. Soun said, "Son, you should take your fiancee with you." Akane was about to add, 'Which one?' when Ranma said, "Nah, all we'd do is fight and I wanna get some trainin' done and Akane wouldn't be happy bein' dragged along." Akane just stood there, speechless, she thought, 'He thought about my feeling? He doesn't usually do that.' and decided to mask it with, "What? You don't think I'm good enough to go with you?" and she started to get angry, while Genma supplied, "Take her boy." Ranma shook his head and replied, "No. I want to get some training done, so I'm goin' alone." The four argued like this for twenty minutes, when Ranma finally gave in. Ranma was thinking this as he walked to the guest room to get packed, 'Didn't want to sound to eager to get Akane to come along.' He entered the guest room, as Akane entered her room. In another part of Japan, Nina landed. She walked toward a populated area and asked a young man who was looking around for a store, "Excuse me, do you know where a Saotome Ranma is?" "No, but there was some guy talking about a guy named Ranma, he was looking for Nerima." "Nerima, hmm? Do you know which way that is?" "Yeah, that way." The man pointed in a direction toward Nerima and continued, "But the guy went in the opposite direction." "Okay, arigato," and Nina started off toward Nerima, flying. The young man gawked and the sight, then continued what he was doing, knowing no one would believe he saw a winged woman who could fly. In the opposite direction, Ryoga yelled, "Where the hell am I now!?!" Back in the Tendo Dojo, Ranma finished getting packed and was starting to go to bed. In his thoughts he was thinking was how excellent his plan was going. He tought, 'I can't believe this is working! Guess I do have some good luck.' Little did he, and the rest of the house, know, that they were going to have an unexpected vister the next morning. In another part of Nerima, Gosunkugi Hikaru was waiting in a dark and fear inducing alley. He was about to purchase something that he believed would win Akane over. He had read up on the artifact in question for three long weeks. All the books he read said that it was linked heavily with the emotions of the weilder and those around him/her. He finally found someone who would sell him a Doragon Namida. 'Sure it's going to be pricy,' Hikaru thought as he waited, 'but it is going to be worth it! I'm just going to make Akane hate Ranma more than anything, then I'll make her like me.' Hikaru was so caught up in his thoughts, that he failed to notice a dark figure approaching him. The figure spoke up, "Ahem, are you Gosunkugi Hikaru?" Hikaru jumped up when he heard the voice. When he steadied himself, Hikaru responded, "Yeah, I'm him." "Good, I have what you asked for." The figure then stepped into the light and removed his hood. He had a red scaly head with gills where his ears would be and a fin on the top of his head. The fish-man reached into his robe and pulled out a beautiful orb made up of an unusual purple tranparent mineral that seemed to radiate. Hikaru cleared his throat and asked, "How much?" The fish-man grinned a fishy grin and answered, "One million yen." Hikaru groaned as he pulled out the money and handed it to the fish-man. "This better not be a fake." "Hey, I never sell a fake." "Yeah, well I'm warning you." "Whatever, I gotta go." and the fish-man left. Hikaru danced a little jig, chanting, "Akane' mine. Akane's mine." and left to go home. Under the earth, something awoke. In one mighty roar, it destroyed the prism of the strange purple mineral that was its prison and was free for the first time since it was born. Early the next morning, no one was up as usual, save Kasumi. She was going through her normal morning routine with her normal aura of excessive cheeriness and calm. She did the laundry and swept the house and she was about to start breakfast when there was a knock at the door. "I wonder who that could be," Kasumi wondered as she went to answer the door. When she opened it, she was met by Nina. Putting aside the fact that Nina had wings, Kasumi did not want to seem to be a rude hostess so she greeted her like she did almost everyone else. "Ohayo. Welcome to the Tendo Dojo," and Nina responded, "Ohayo, is there a Saotome Ranma living here?" "Yes there is, would you like for me to wake him up?" "No, I wouldn't want him to think I'm rude. I'll just wait for him to wake up." "Alright, please come in." Kasumi then lead Nina into the house and told her she could wait in the living room. In a few minutes, the smell of Kasumi's cooking was drifting through the house. And soon after that, an angry yelling could be heard, accompanied with something being thrown out the window and landing in the koi pond. Nina raised an eyebrow as an angry red-head came down the stairs and out the back door without even stopping to see her. Out of the koi pond came a giant panda, who started attacking the red-head. While she was fighting, she was also tossing insults and gripes toward the panda, like "Baka oyaji, why can't you let me sleep in for once?" and "Ha Pops! You're getting to old! What, need a walker?" Nina sighed as she watched the fighting continue. She was sure that all this noise would wake Ranma and he'd be in a bad mood when he came down here. Then Akane came down the stairs. She walked over to the back door without even looking at Nina, who was thinking, 'Hmm, no one has even looked at me yet. I wonder why this Ranma hasn't awakened yet, especially with all this noise.' and she continued to watched the red-head beat the living crap out of the panda. Someone noticed her when the fight was winding down. It was Nabiki, but Nina didn't know that, and she walked over to her and asked, "Here for Ranma?" and Nina replied, "Yes." That was all as Nabiki went to the table and sat down. The last to wake up was, what Nina guessed, the head of the house, Soun. The fight was finished, Akane was seated at the table, and Kasumi walked over to Ranma-chan with a kettle of hot water and poured on her, now him. Nina didn't seem very surprised at this, seeing as how he's been to China at least once, to her knowledge. Nina sat down at the table and everyone stared at her. Ranma was the first to speak, "Um, who're you?" and Nina replied, "I'm Nina. I'm the sister of Lord Saffron." "Oh, okay." Ranma said, then continued with, "Could you try to kill me after breakfast? I'm kinda hungry." Nina just chuckled and responded, "I'm not here to kill you..." but before she could continue, "Okay, let's eat." and everyone continued eating. Nina was going to continue, but saw it would have been futile and decided to join the others in eating. Breakfast went by uneventful (Akane only hitting Ranma once, and Genma getting fried by a Myollnir spell for trying to steal Nina's food. After the spell died down, there was a round of applause.) and the Tendos and Saotomes went to the living room to listen to Nina. When they were seated, Ranma asked, "So you ain't here to kill me," and Nina answered, "Correct, I am here in peace, as per orders from Lord Saffron." "What do I have to do with Saffron now?" "Lord Saffron wishes there to be no bad blood between both parties, so he sent me to offer peace and to help you in anyway possible." "Um, you aren't a new fiancee are ya?" Nina giggled a little and answered, "No I'm not, that would cause some problems amongst the people of Phoenix Mountain." With that said, the tension died down a bit and the conversations resumed, "Okay, so how're you supposed to help me?" "I will do anything you say, Lord Ranma." "Okay, first thing. Don't call me Lord Ranma." Nabiki spoke up, "I don't know Ranma, Lord Ranma does have a nice ring to it." And Ranma retorted with his vast wit by saying, "Shut up." It was Akane that spoke up next, "Ranma, are you forgetting something?" and Ranma replied, "Hm... lessee, woke up, took a bath, tossed P-chan out, ate, talked to the sister of Saffron... Nope I don't think so." *WHAM!* *WHAM!* Akane returned her mallet to Hammer-Space once its mission was completed. And Ranma was unconscious. Nina sighed and cast, "Heal!" and a faint light surrounded Ranma as his light wound was healed. Ranma groaned and sat up. He glared at Akane and said, "What'd you do that for?" and Akane responded, "For throwing P-chan out and forgetting the training trip." "I didn't forget, I was just jokin'. Geesh, you should lightin' up once in a while." Before the argument came to blows (on Akane's part) Nabiki asked, "So Ranma, where are you going?" and he responded, "We're gonna go to the area outside Osaka." and then Ranma went upstairs to get his stuff, followed by Akane. Then Kasumi asked Nina, "So Miss Nina, where are you staying?" and Nina responded, "Nowhere right now, since I'm going with Ranma and Akane, but afterwards I'm going to stay somewhere close by." and Soun offered, "Why don't you stay here?" "I wouldn't want to impose." and Nabiki agreed, "Yeah daddy, we don't have enough room in the house for her." and Soun said, "She will share your room." Nabiki growled but couldn't say anything more since Ranma and Akane came do the stairs. Ranma and Akane had two large packs, and Akane was wearing a green tee-shirt and blue jean shorts, while Ranma was wearing his usual, a red chinese shirt and black baggy pants. Nina inquired, "Are we ready?" and Ranma responded, "Um... we?" "Yes, I'm going with you." "Why?" "So I can aid you when needed." "I already got Akane with me, I don't need anymore people comin' with me." "I 'insist'." with this, Nina started charging her mana. In a look of panic, Ranma conceded, "Alright, you can come." Akane looked angry but didn't say anything. Genma spoke up, "You better get going boy." Ranma looked at his watch and with wide eyes, grabbed Akane's arm and sped out of the house. Nina sighed, but followed them. Soun looked at Genma and said, "Did you see him grab her arm?" "Yes Tendo." and a stupid grin lit up both there faces as they called out, "The schools shall be united!" and danced a happy little jig. Nabiki snorted and went to the phone to make a few calls, and Kasumi smiled, then started to clean. At the Gosunkugi house, Hikaru was looking through his books to find out how to use the Doragon Namida. He was getting frustrated because of his lack of success. He started when a dark figure approached him from behind. He slowly turned around, and he saw a young man, about his age. He had blue hair and blue eyes. He wore a black shirt with blue jeans, and a red cloak. At his hip, Hikaru could see a sheathed sword, that seemed to radiate power. Hikaru, despite all his fear, managed to ask, "Wh-who are y-you?" The man smiled, and answered, "My name is Ryu, Master." With that, Hikaru fainted. end chapter 1 Author's notes: Well, here is my newest story. I had a tough time getting ideas for it, and it didn't help that I was busy quite often, but I finally got done the first chapter. I still don't have a title for the entire series, but I am willing to use whatever anyone suggests. I could use some proof-readers to help, and would like any constructive criticism. I hope you enjoyed to story, and will log on to read the next chapter. Til then, arigato and sayonara!
